The 19th edition of Oil&nonOil, opens in Verona, the only Italian event and one of the most important in Europe dedicated to professionals in the fuel distribution supply chain. It will take place from Wednesday 22 October to Friday 24 October at the Veronafiere exhibition centre. With over 8,000 square meters of exhibition space and 120 participating companies and brands, the city of Verona will host all the major players in the sector. The event focuses on energy transition and the new European regulatory challenges, with a program of conferences and workshops featuring leading institutions and trade associations. Oil&nonOil will be open for three days from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. (Hall 4 – Cangrande Entrance, viale del Lavoro), with free admission upon online registration at www.oilnonoil.it
The exhibition will host operators and exhibitors from all areas related to fuel distribution: from the strictly “Oil” sector – plant design and construction, safety, technical installations, management systems, fuels – to the “NonOil” sector – accessories, car washes, vending, fuel storage and transport, vehicles and tanks, alternative fuels, and the world of electric mobility and charging systems.
Opening Conference: Sustainability, Regulations, and Market
The central theme of the event will be introduced by the opening conference titled: “Fuel distribution and new european challenges: sustainability, regulations, and market. New obligations, tools, and opportunities for the network: building together the path toward decarbonization“. The meeting, promoted by Assogasliquidi-Federchimica, Assopetroli-Assoenergia, and Unem, will be held on Wednesday 22 October from 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. in Sala Verde. After the welcome remarks by Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere, and the opening of proceedings by Gabriele Masini, Director of Staffetta Quotidiana, the first session will begin. Experts from the Ministry will address the most pressing issues: Giovanni Perrella, President of the Technical Advisory Committee on Biofuels (MASE), will outline the regulatory framework and development prospects for biofuels in Italy, while Antonio Andrea Coletti from the Directorate for Energy Markets and Infrastructure (Department of Energy, MASE) will explain the new ETS 2 system and its concrete implications for the road transport sector.
The discussion will then turn to a debate among the main trade associations.
Participants will include Marina Barbanti, Director General of Unem; Sebastiano Gallitelli, Secretary General of Assopetroli-Assoenergia; and Silvia Migliorini, Director of Assogasliquidi-Federchimica, who will address challenges and practical solutions for a sustainable transition.
The closing remarks will be delivered by Hon. Massimo Bitonci, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, who will provide an institutional overview of the future and evolution of fuel distribution in Italy.
In the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m. in Sala Verde, the conference “Decarbonizing road transport: there’s room for everyone” will follow.
Promoted by Assogasmetano and Assopetroli-Assoenergia, the event will offer an open discussion on the importance of technological neutrality in the energy transition, highlighting how both ultra-low-emission fuels (such as biofuels and biomethane) and efficient internal combustion engines must be valued for fair and sustainable mobility. Speakers will include Antonio Sileo, Program Director for the Sustainable Mobility Reseach Program at the Eni Enrico Mattei Foundation and researcher at IEFE – Università Bocconi, Paolo Arrigoni, President of GSE; Giovanni Perrella, President of the Technical Advisory Committee on Biofuels (MASE); and Sebastiano Gallitelli, Secretary General of Assopetroli-Assoenergia. The discussion will also feature Alberto Ruffino of Bosch GmbH – Italy and Giovanni La Via, Business Development – Alternative Fuels, Iveco, who will provide an industrial perspective on the comparison between technologies.
Oil&nonOil will continue over the following days with thematic workshops, presentations of technological solutions, and networking opportunities among operators, suppliers, and stakeholders. The event confirms its role as a strategic platform to guide the sector toward a more sustainable, efficient model of mobility aligned with European policies.
