Antonio Fazio, Schermolux Illuminotecnica: “We are focusing on the eco-green world”
Orders have resumed in the post lockdown period but customers are asking for lower costs. The company responds with new products
Interview with ANTONIO FAZIO, Joint Director with Gianni Lucarelli of Schermolux Illuminotecnica
The coronavirus pandemic and consequent blocking of business operations and movements brought planned company orders to a halt. This was followed by a recovery, albeit with more frequent requests by customers for discounts or longer payment terms. This is how Antonio Fazio, joint director with partner Gianni Lucarelli of Schermolux Illuminotecnica, summed up the difficult experience over recent months. However, the company based in Brianza is trying to react by focusing on new products and eco-compatibility. The company is located in Cavenago Brianza (MB). It specialises in the design, production and marketing of illuminated signs, as well as electric charging stations, LED lamps, electronic price lists and other items for fuel service stations.
“The pandemic and the lockdown that followed it brought all scheduled orders to a halt and even the various maintenance schedules to be carried out at points of sale, with consequent requests to postpone payment deadlines, as well as orders, to the end of the year,” said Fazio. In the post-lockdown period, he added, “the order situation seems to have improved but with even more requests to reduce certain costs or discounts on the part of customers,” themselves affected by the health and economic emergency.
Schermolux intends to focus on the Eco Green world in the future. “We have developed a new ‘Small’ line as a way to cut final costs and recycle the material used to build it. By reducing the total area of material used, we also reduce environmental impact. We have also created new energy re-charging columns for e-bikes, motorcycles and cars,” Fazio explained.
And the “Small” line will be one of the innovations presented during the fifteenth Oil&nonOil event at Veronafiere. The company has already attended previous editions of this trade fair and this year it a silver sponsor. “We will present the new ‘Small’ line, the new electric re-charging stations and an innovative green bike rental system,” Fazio mentioned.
Schermolux Illuminotecnica has operated since 1957 on national and international markets for illuminated signs as a supplier to major companies in the oil and other sectors. Its impressive catalogue includes electric recharge columns, ceiling lights and LEDs, electronic price lists, poles and totems, signs and displays, furnishing items for forecourts such as product indicators for shelter uprights, POS cabinets, container and display trolleys, air or water columns, opening and closing timetable signs.
