The Complete Service Station Trade Fair
The fourth Oil&nonoil and Stoccaggio & Trasporto Carburanti exhibition (ModenaFiere, 9-11 May) concluded with all-round satisfaction. Exhibitors reported an excellent level of visitors and their decision-making power with regard to purchases.
The fourth Oil&nonoil and Stoccaggio & Trasporto Carburanti (S&TC) came to a close on Tuesday 11th May, and the feeling was one of general satisfaction for the event. The number of visitors, negotiations and sealed deals reflected confidence in the sector and in the activities that drive it.
The figures
The 2,200 visitors who pre-registered on the fair website promised the numbers for Oil&nonoil and S&TC would be excellent, in line with the positive growth trend among exhibitors (+35% compared to 2008) and exhibition area (+30%), and the figures did not disappoint: 5,800 (+16%) visitors (the share from outside Italy was stable), exploring, observing and purchasing in the three halls at the Fiera di Modena occupied by 190 exhibitors. The highest number of visitors was recorded on Monday (2,300 admissions), a day featuring numerous conferences and seminars, and 900 people registered for the 32 side events being held over the three days.
Exhibitors reported a high calibre of visitors in the questionnaires they were asked to complete (comprehensive results will be available soon), essentially meaning they encountered competent, high level operators who in most cases were able to negotiate deals.
The exhibition
With the inauguration of the concomitant event dedicated to fuel storage and transportation, Oil&nonoil can be considered one of the most comprehensive fairs in Europe for services and products for the various operators in the oil industry.
The fair grouped the entire range of products dedicated to the logistics of fuels and distribution systems, and in hall A presented the customary exhibition of car care and car wash products, a multi-faceted, expanding area that includes detergents, wastewater treatment and accessory equipment.
Hall B grouped producers of technology for the construction and maintenance of service stations and, in response to demand for strong and rapid development, distribution points for alternative fuels, manufacturers of natural gas compressors and LPG and natural gas distribution.
Oil&nonoil and S&TC showcased the technology and solutions that accompany fuels on the journey from the depot to the vehicle’s tank, and included mixers, vapour recovery, transportation, unloading systems and even design services for the forecourt, incorporating video surveillance, shops, car wash systems, automatic laundry services, wastewater treatment and much more.
The Lukoil booth was particularly lively and crowded. In addition to Eni, Archigia, station operator associations, Assopetroli, Federlavaggi, a dozen companies and an interesting photographic demonstration on the history of the car wash provided the attraction in Hall C, where four meeting rooms were also located.
Seminars and conferences
Thirty-two seminars and conferences were held in all, touching on all the most topical issues in the sector and underscoring technical, legislative and political aspects. They attracted a large crowd and also including the round table “What is the role of shops and catering in the ordinary network?” and the conference “The phenomenon of the unaffiliated service station”. Federlavaggi was directly responsible for three seminars on issues relating to disposal and sludge regulations and the advantages offered by the Italian law “Tremonti-ter”. A highly articulate conference was dedicated to natural gas and the various operators promoting it. Reports will soon be available on the website www.oilnonoil.it.
During the three days of the fair La Staffetta Quotidiana published Today@Oilnonoil, a dedicated publication for the event.
As the fair drew to a conclusion, the organisers announced that the second Oil&nonoil Sud will be held on 16th and 17th October 2011 in Naples. Expanding on the success of the first edition, they aim to fill two halls and expand beyond the national borders to attract visitors from abroad.
